“A delightful getaway ”
Stayed there for 3 nights in early October. Overall, had a good experience. Con: -You are required to wear house slippers throughout the property and they are VERY strict about it. You have to leave your own shoes in your room until you go out of the hotel - Breakfast was the same food throughout. We signed up for dinner and had the same dishes for two nights. - If you're booked on the top floor, there are A LOT of stairs - their towels are thin - some of the staff were a bit nervous (due to language) and got our drink order wrong PRO - big room, clean, well stocked. We booked a room with an outside onsen and it was really nice - plenty of amenities including yakutas, and even skincare - staff multitask and are quite efficient, friendly (even if English is a challenge for some of them) - They are on a hill, but offer shuttles to the station - the hotel is also a 10-15 minute walk from the funicular, and there are buses fairly frequently. We bought the Hakone Free Pass so all the public transportation was included including the ropeway.
