“If your after a Low cost base”
I stayed at the Ululani hotel for 14 nights as a stop over on my travels. From looking at the hotel description I thought this would be a great pick in a nice area with a pool I can relax by. I arrived to the hotel late in the evening and I can’t really fault the staff. The only issue I had is with the deposit of 500,000 being in cash… I’d prefer this to be held on my account and then returned to my card. The rooms are large but dated. They aren’t very clean and areas are damaged. If your unfortunate enough to get a room with the internal courtyard view you’ll be looking into someone else’s room if you have a golf view which I had it is quite pleasant, but there’s no furniture on the balcony to be able to enjoy this space. The bed was large but only came with two pillows which wasn’t an issue for myself but for a bed which was almost two double beds wide think there would be more. The bedding wasn’t cleaned properly and the sofa which was in the room must of had some sort of mites in it. Sat on it the first day and had bites on my legs. I did complain about these issues and was offered a downgraded room but with one of the internal balconies looking onto someone else’s room so declined this. The room was cleaned but again I don’t think they clean them properly as historic spill marks and coffee marks were left on surfaces which I cleaned up. The bathroom was again dated the shower only half worked and the same with the bath. The highlight of my stay and one thing I think is such an asset to the hotel is the balangan restaurant. Great views, great food and perfect service! Think they are in the process of re-modelling the hotel as the room next to mine had constant hammering and banging. And there are a lot of areas around the hotel which are just not in use. The hotel has a lot of potential and maybe I just had an old room which needed a bit of TLC but I think if money is invested correctly this could be great. Just be aware there is NO POOL although pictures and the description mention there is.
