We booked a 5-night Deluxe Double Room in Bangkok Win Long through Agoda. The result was a huge disappointment. The room was only 15 square meters. My husband immediately told the front desk that there might be a mistake, but we were told there wasn't. The tiny room contained only a dirty, peeling chair and two 1x1.8 meter beds placed side-by-side. The lighting was dim. The windows were low, and the curtains couldn't be opened during the day, otherwise people in the opposite building and on the street below could see everything happening inside. The windows were covered in stains and watermarks. The soundproofing was terrible; street conversations could be heard clearly. The first night, people chatting on the street made it impossible to sleep. An air conditioner with its bottom casing missing hung crookedly on the glass wall next to the bathroom, making a lot of noise. The bathroom was dark and cramped, and the towels were old, yellowed, and worn out – they looked unusable. When we turned on the shower, there was no hot water; it wasn't fixed until the next morning. The sheets and blankets were also yellowed, dirty, and smelled bad. This night felt like hell; my Thailand trip was ruined right from the start by these appalling accommodations. The receptionist claimed it was a Deluxe Double Room, but I have no idea how this hotel managed to get a 7.0 rating. I booked five nights, endured the first night, and then urgently contacted Agoda customer service—to no avail. I had to leave as quickly as possible. For the same price, there are countless hotels with far better facilities, cleanliness, and service.
